Ed
Farah
Michael

That's a pretty strong Trifecta right there. I'm seeing lots of reports that he's not dead yet though.

I think most people with journalistic integrity are waiting for confirmation.

TMZ, however...

At this point I think I'd trust TMZ to report something factual about as much as any mainstream news outlet.

I loved me some Thriller album, When I was 13! After that he got extremely weird and I stopped caring, much like Drew.

Were you referring to Michael or Simon?

Either way it's not bad!

It's just weird to see all of these people who were cultural icons when I was a little kid kick off on the space of a couple days.

Off The Wall was the shit back in the day. Anthem to my pre-teen years.

The guy was one of the most talented artists of all times, despite his adult years marred by his freakiness.

Gotta give him props for his musial career and records sold. He was a legend...although tarnished.

Finally something I agree with Peabody on!!!!

;)

Seriously......he was a total icon, maybe THE biggest icon of our generation....but in the end, he was just a pedophile that probably died from a demerol overdose. Doesn't make the situation/story any less tragic, but I'm not really losing any sleep over this.

Personal accountability counts for a lot in this world don't me wrong, but the chances of that guy ending up normal after the fucked up stuff his father did to him as a kid were, what, .00001 percent?

It doesn't excuse the things he did, but good lord, Joe Jackson is very responsible for him becoming a majorly fucked up person.

To me, it is just sad because this guy had the potential to be the biggest music star this world have EVER seen, and perhaps he was at one point. But then he delved into the weird stuff, lost most of his American audience, and then of course the pedophilia charges completely derailed him, and might have caused his eventual death.

Should we mourn the loss of Michael Jackson? That is certainly up for debate. But we should mourn the loss of a musical icon who reached about a third of his potential, a potential that we will never get to see now, nor will he be able to pass it down to future stars.

And I still think this was the best Super Bowl performance ever:

RIP, Michael.

Lost in this whole death trifecta is the fact that Ed McMahon once again takes a back seat. Move on down to make some room on the couch, Ed... :(

I agree with Matt. The guy was hardly worth celebrating, but the musician was a once-in-a-lifetime talent.

My question: what happens now to the rights to the Beatles catalog? Didn't MJ still own it? Can Paul finally buy it all back now?
