There's a thread over on shaggybevo with pictures of the construction of the semi-permanent stands in the south endzone. Based on what you can see in those, it looks like they're spreading the gravel and sand that the field surface will sit on.

I was there last weekend and the field hadn't been put down yet. Pretty cool I got to see it from the players lounge. That room is F'ing awesome!! The whole lockerroom is pretty incredible.

So is the next 10 yards gonna be lighter? Like it was during the spring game?

I don't like the way the orange section at the Disch gets those dark/discolored streaks through it.

Can't we all just admit this is a huge mistake and pretend it never happened?

This reminds me of the new red basketball court they put in at the Erwin Center last year.....I mean, they DO KNOW that's not burnt orange, right?

At first I was worried about it but if it's anything like the turf and colored bevo at the Disch (and I think it is), then it'll look fine.

And another thing, it don't make a shit, just win.

I wonder if it's just the way the light is hitting it, though... the sun isn't directly shining on the pads.

Surely the reflectivity of the surface has something to do with the appearance of the color? Although, that should have been taken into account. Maybe the aoternative colors looked too dark at night? What do we have 2, maybe 3, games that occur at night per season?

The image in the OP looks closer to burnt orange.

I just hate turf.

Supposedly once they put all the shreaded tire pieces into it will darken everything up.

Looks tons better than I thought it was going to. Don't really care for the Big 12 logos but whatever. Still wish we'd have kept the grass tho.
