173 years!

Anyone wanna take bets on whether or not Wheeler's essay gets posted on HF or Shaggy (and not attributed to him)?

I heard Wade Phillips wrote it.

Oh, it's there -- attributed to Bum Phillips. I have it saved on my computer from when I first got it from Wheeler and I think the interesting thing is that near the beginning he mentions why he was having "this party," and I specifically remember when he had that Texas Independence Day party. I am sorry we didn't attend because apparently it was legendary.

Hasnt that been replaced by Cinco de Mayo? ;)

Tx Independence Day may offend some people, you know. (A former boss actually told me that.)

I never made it to Wheeler's Tx Independence Day celebration either. Bet it was something!

I didn't go, either, and I'm disappointed that I didn't.

I actually just posted on Wheeler's wall on FB how I had received this great write up on Texas Independece Day from Bum Phillips.

How did that ever get linked to Bum Phillips?

Happy Texas Independence Day and f those stupid motherfuckers from MEChA that make it impossible for Texas Independence Day to be celebrated on UT's campus. If it weren't for Texas being part of the US, they'd all be working at the Austin, Mexico Ford plant for a nickel a day. They can EABOD and DIAF.
