F Mandatory Shutdowns

But it's okay to use the "F word" if you'd like...

F Mandatory Shutdowns

Postby Drew Corleone on Wed Jan 07, 2009 11:47 am

Our company has lost $5M in both of the last two quarters, and the CEO has pledged to break even this quarter. Part of that includes no 401K matching this quarter, and a mandatory shutdown of all non-agent positions in the last week of February. That's a lot of money lost.

Six weeks to find a new job?

Yikes. Non-paid leave and mandatory shutdowns are ominous signs. Job hunting in this market blows ass, but I will say that The Ladders is still a good resource to find a sales related high tech job. I've gotten some good leads from it.

Or, you can just follow my lead and wait for the right news group to pick up and syndicate your blog! :D

That sucks. Rumors of layoffs at my company, as well.

I should clarify that this shouldn't impact my job - I don't think, anyway - but losing a chunk of income like that isn't good headed into what will likely be an expensive stretch (Kristina's b-day, Vegas, Byron Nelson)

Damn... my longest tenured client called me just now to let me know he got the axe this afternoon. I've worked with him going on two years now, and he was just about to start putting together an RFP to re-define/continue our campaign. His departure probably decreases the likelihood that the client will continue.

I guess a forced unpaid week off isn't the worst news I could get today.

I'm about to start a new gig with our OSP (outsource group). I know this group needs a few people, not sure if we are hiring from the outside right now, but let me know if interested. OUr groups are mainly overseas(manila, panama, el salvador) so you have to travel a week or so every qtr. Just let me know as you have similar experience.
