Well, it's that time of year again. 10 game plan purchased. Who all is going to opening day?

Going to miss it for only the second time in 17 years. Headed to The Masters practices rounds and we decided to make a week out of it and play golf while there.

So Vegas has the Rangers at 84.5 wins, which would be behind Houston (91.5) and Seattle (85.5) in the AL West.

Hmm.

I have to admit I am not optimistic about this year.

Honest question. When was the last time you were optimistic entering a season?

Other things on my mind:

- This team has a better rotation and lineup today than they had at any point last year.

- I think Yu Darvish is going to ball out this year.

- Then good news is, the Astros are still in our division, and that middle bingo space helps.

Ha. Feel free to dig up last season's thread. I think I was pretty optimistic.

I don't like the rotation past Hamels and Darvish (unless Tyson Ross steps up), bullpens are year to year and Dyson was shaky much of the year last season.

Furthermore, I don't like depending on Carlos Gomez to replicate what he did here last year and Rua/Mazara need to ball out to avoid being just a VERY average OF.

I think 84 is a little low, but could be right there if Ross doesn't come back or Darvish comes up injured...again.

I mean, this team is entering the season in better position today than they were at any time last year. There might be 3 better rotations in the AL. The lineup is deeper. They've won two straight AL West titles. This shit is cream cheese.

I'll go on record and say I'm all for making Yu a 6yr/$180,000,000 offer right now

$50 says Houston wins the Silver Boot this year. Fair coupons... your tab at KTI on Texas/OU Friday.... whatever...

Houston wins the Silver Boot? Like, for baseball?

BTW, if you did mean baseball, and not wheelbarrow races or line dancing, then sign me up.

I'll take Banny in a no holds barred street fight over Hinch, and I think your minor leagues are better than ours, and anyone else's, at jacking off teammates (so proud y'all must be), but the one-sided record stops this year.

Texas is 72-28 vs. Houston since 2009. I like my odds. Should be fun.

Listening to Jub go on yesterday about how Yu hasn't really shown him anything since he's been here was painful.

Yeah. Even if you don't think he is quite an ace (I believe he is), these guys don't come around very often and they don't come to Texas very often.

What is the alternative? Two Derek Hollands?

That screamed I don't know baseball from Jub. Especially when he tried to cite wins as his main argument.

For the record, I can't think of many things worse than two Derek Hollands.
