13 Hours the Secret Soldiers of Benghazi

Very good movie. Intense. Great story of bravery by a hand full of guys that were willing to risk their lives.

Hail Caesar is the funniest movie I've seen in a long time. 8/10.

Obviously not 2016, but I am sitting here watching Twister, which I have never seen, for some reason. Based on what I have seen so far this is a movie about Bill Paxton fighting "corporate" weather people and dealing with romantic difficulties and sullying the good name of Phillip Seymour Hoffman by forcing him to wear an OU hat. Possibly the most ludicrous premise for a movie ever.

Twister is awful. Alas, I catch myself watching it from time to time... hoping that Helen Hunt gets creamed by a cow or a tractor or a house... anything to knock that look of perpetual dumbfoundedness (word?) off her overrated face...

Batman v. Superman:

Pros - I saw a movie about Batman at a movie theater in Denver and did not get mass shooted.

Cons - Pretty much everything else. I hated Man of Steel and went and saw this anyway, so I have nobody to blame but myself. Affleck was fine as Batman and, surprisingly, I thought Eisenberg was good as Lex Luthor. The whole thing was just a loud, boring, and overly long mess. They need to boot Snyder and bring somebody else in to direct the franchise.

Everybody Wants Some:

Richard Linklater's "spiritual sequel" to Dazed and Confused. I didn't like the first half at all. Too much energy devoted to repeatedly reminding viewers this movie takes place in the 1980s and not enough energy devoted to developing characters and having them say funny things. The second half is much better. If you liked Dazed and Confused, you'll probably like this.

Dead Pool is the funniest movie I've seen in a very long time.

The Witch was good even though I couldn't hear the 1st half of the movie due to technical problems with the volume.

The Boy was a nice and creepy horror movie. Not great but I'm glad I saw it.

I liked 10 cloverfield Lane. John Goodman was creepy. The ending was weird, but I can accept it.

London Has fallen was similar to Olympus Has fallen. Good Gun battles. Some really stupid parts as far as the script is concerned . It was average at best. I enjoyed the other movies much more.

Went and saw The Arrival on Evan's recommendation without knowing much about it. Very well done.

Agreed. I went in only seeing one trailer. I left the theater thinking "this will take a day or two to decide if i loved it", and within an hour had decided i did... Felt like reading a book, was beautifully shot, good story, good acting, good premise.

Thumbs up for Nocturnal Animals. To paraphrase a Shaggy poster who summed it up better than I could, it's like Tom Ford made a sadistic version of The Never Ending Story.

Never posted it but I absolutely loved Hell Or Highwater. Was surprised when I saw it was up for best picture, hope it wins but I know it likely won't.
