Breaking Bad - Season 5B - Spoilers ahoy

Postby 12ozLongneck on Sun Aug 11, 2013 8:15 pm

1. Let's go ahead and kill Jesse already.
2. I like the fact that they decided to have Walt confront Hank instead of pussyfooting around for a few episodes.
3. We don't have time to fuck around with Badger and Skinny Pete comic relief shit.

1. Don't get the uproar about Jesse. He's not a sociopath like Walt.
2. Agreed.
3. I thought that was funny. A show like this needs comic relief.

I liked season 5A Jesse. Jesse that sits around and mopes is no fun to watch.

Awesome episode that certainly lived up to the expectation, but agreed, glad they didn't dick around with the Walt-Hank storyline, but how could they....there's only seven episodes left. I'm fine with Jesse's character, but as always, I could do without Skyler....I mean, they could literally drop her from every remaining episode, and I doubt it would change much.

Agree with Drew on Jesse. Somebody in this circle needs a conscience.

Agree on Skyler. Annoying.

Hank has no poker face. And I'm not sure he had a choice once Walt showed him the tracking device, but good lord way to show a drug kingpin who has killed at will before that you are right on his tail.

Agree with Drew about Jessie.
Disagree about Skyler. We tend to watch from Walts view, but I'm sure your wife would be as crazy as she is if your wife caught you lying over and over then had to help launder money.
Does Walt fake his own death between now and when Carol saw him leaving the house?

Eh, on some level I enjoy digesting each episode, reading reviews, listening to podcasts, talking with friends, etc. about it rather than going on my own observations.

Walt kills Hank and Jessie. Probably kills Saul also. Got to tie up loose ends.

I'm not rooting for Walt. I'd rather see Hank and Jesse make it, crazy compared to how I felt about them the first half or more of the show.

Interesting post!

Who are you rooting for?

I'm going to go with Walt. I like Hank, but Walt paid his doctor bills and saved him from being killed that Mexican hit squad. Jessie wears on my nerves. He's just stupid. I understand Drews logic about him and agree, but he needs to go.

I understand that Jesse is more or less the conscience of the show right now. I just don't like the way the writers have backtracked from him being the assertive and assured character from the first part of season 5 and turned him back into mopey Jesse. It doesn't really detract from my enjoyment of the show. If that and the fact that I wasn't much on the Badger/Skinny Pete Star Trek fan fiction bit are my least favorite things about the final episodes, this is going to be pretty bad ass.

I think I have said this before, but I highly recommend the Breaking Bad Insider podcast on iTunes or your podcast provider.

Vince Gilligan is always on it, as is one of the senior editors and usually the director of the episode along with one of the principal actors. It goes into depth about the episode and usually has some great tidbits.

That was fucking awesome. Gilligan and company have known exactly what they were doing the entire time.

I've seen some people throw out there that Jesse's pickup was going to kill him. Anyone here think that? I think if Walt/Saul sent someone to kill Jesse, they would kill Jesse, not just drive off when he walked off.

I think they will now

That was good. Hank is dead and so is gomie. I think Jessie gets away or is taken by the nazis along with hank.
Skyler gets worried cuz she can't find Walt and goes to Marie for help. Marie tells her hank got Walt. Skyler goes to the station and screws it all up for Walt trying to find him

Great episode. Sucks to have to wait 7 days for the next one. Minor quibble: Why can the aryans take out the Phoenix crew with a well-executed strike, but cant hit Hank and the Mexican DEA dude with 6 people?

I think Hank and Gomez are dead, too. The DEA is officially off Walt's back, but now he has to deal with the Arayan brotherhood the last three episodes, hence the AR15 and risin.

Although that doesn't explain why his house would be boarded up. I guess Hank and Gomez live? Or Marie has the videos at home?

Dunno.
