The Father John Misty album is pretty damn spectacular.

I just downloaded a live David Gray album after hearing it on "The girl Next Door". Which BTW, is back in the rotation on the movie channels the last couple of weeks.

There are some songs I like a lot on FJM, but a few that I really dislike as well.

The new Beach House is streaming on NPR and I enjoyed the first listen.

Notable (to me) items on the Blues on the Green lineup:

6/13 - Rhett Miller
6/27 - Ben Kweller
7/11 - Quiet Company opening up for the Bodeans.

I need MOAR songs by them that are good if there are any. I love that "Little Talks song." I'm running it into the ground because I like it so much.

Downloaded the Alabama Shakes album. Like a couple songs, hate a couple songs. Can't decide if I like it or not.

Nothing else on the album is as good, but I don't know any other song names. Go to www.hypem.com and listen to some of their other stuff.

Chay... I feel the same way about Alabama shakes.

If y'all like lo-fi surfy rock, the new Best Coast is pretty good.

Garbage, of all bands, is putting out a new album. I listened to it over at spinner.com, and it's okay, but I probably wouldn't buy it.

It took a few listens, but I'm coming around on the new Heartless Bastards album. Quite a bit of it is pretty forgettable, but there are some solid songs on there.

Went to Kenny Chesney concert at Raymond James Stadium on Saturday night...along with about 60,000 other people. A phenomenal, mind-boggling collection of talent. The music was good too, except for the 90 minutes of brokeback Tim McGraw, who played right before Chesney.

I kinda hoping my shoulder keeps hurting so that I'll have to withdraw from golf tournament and see the show again in Dallas this weekend. In any case, I highly recommend.

He has the new album coming out mid-June, so the timing is right now...played exclusively old stuff. He even did "She thinks my tractor's sexy" with McGraw. I'd post my video if my own singing/screaming hadn't drowned out the other audio. Plus no reason to show everyone my future is not in country music.

Listening to Rhett Miller's latest (The Dreamer) on Spotify...seems like it has more of a country feel to it. Like the first two songs, as well as the song with Rosanne Cash. And of course has some Rhett Miller solo album disasters.

I was completely unaware of the fact that Rhett Miller did a solo album between the new one and The Believer. Not a fan of that one. Or the new one. For the most part, it seems like he really needs Murray and company behind him to be good.

The new River City Extension album is quite good.

Paste posted the set we saw during SXSW... pretty cool to go back and watch that again... you can see us a few times. I think you may have to be a subscriber to see it.

Congrats, Smashing Pumpkins. I didn't think I'd hear anything worse than the new Rhett Miller solo album this year until y'all threw your turd in the punchbowl.

--The new Toadies single is kind of growing on me.
