Okay back to business

We don't want boring names like
Tom
Dick
Harry
Or Bob

Round 2
We still want unique

Joffrey Craig
Theon Craig
Khal Craig
Ser Craig
Lord Craig

I'm going to explore some "c" given names too

Off the top of my head.

Carson Craig

Be back later

Oh yeah, I've probably invested more time naming your child than all 3 of mine.

Oh, I really want to spoil you, Peabody.

Not gonna lie, though... Rhaegar Craig would be pretty sweet.

I like that name. Very unique and cool. It demands respect and curiuosity.

Back to the letter c for me.

C names must start with the letter c for those that aren't aware of the c rule.

I'll give you a hint, Mr. Peabody, Matt doesn't like alliteration, so we've never considered any C names.

Carson is very cute, but that is Leonard's son's name. I did like Caleb and Cameron, but they got vetoed pretty early on.

And Papa D has to be able to pronounce (and spell) the name, so no way Rhaegar would fly! :)

If I would have ever had a son, his name would have been Jacob Thomas. Would have called him Jake for short.

I don't understand why people name their kids something that they're never going to call the kid.

I fully intended on calling Cooper "Cooper", but it has transitioned into things I called Conner Atchley and Scott Derry during their primes.

Some baby name suggestions for the Craigs...

Postby LMQueen on Fri May 04, 2012 1:46 pm

My parents named me Robbi (vs Robin) because they thought that's what they would call me.

They never call me Robbi.

They call me Rob or Rob Renea.

Kids are always going to end up with nicknames, I just won't give him a first and middle name and call him by his middle name.

I think of it this way... if my kid every ends up running for president or heading a Fortune 500 firm, he/she needs a name that sounds like a name, not a nickname.

Plus, despite what I ever called him/her, I figure at some point they're going to go by what they want to go by. Hell, no one EVER called me "Drew" before sophomore year in college, and Yogi and Matt started it.

Not completely against C names. Just has to sound right.

The reason I would have called him Jake is that is what people called his late would be great-grandfather - my idol. :)

Well yeah... What Robbi and Drew are talking about isn't what I'm talking about. Y'all's parents named you what they thought they would call you.

The only thing that parents do with names that really deserves scorn and derision is giving their kids common names with tricked out spellings. If all someone wants to do is show the world how creative they are, write a novel or paint a picture. Don't saddle a kid with a stupid ass name that dooms them to a life of having to say "No, my name isn't 'Amy', it's 'Ayemeeigh'." every time they want to conduct business over the phone. That's just annoying for everybody involved.

While I love that I've never met anybody else with my name, it's hell trying to tell people it in public. I've given up on correcting people. In fact there is a huge group of people from college who think my name is Jackson because I started last naming it since it was easier to say and understand in bars.

Make sure you call the kid by his first name. I have, as well as my brothers have always gone by our middle names. Don't know why the parents did that because they go by their first names. I've never cared for that.

Jackson Owen Craig was born today at 3:17am, for those not on Facebook. :)
He weighed 8lbs 10oz and was 20 inches long. He is simply amazing.
