Lost 2/2

The aftermath from the detonation of the hydrogen bomb is revealed.

=D>

So I'm about to sit down and watch the last episode of Season 5. 100+ episodes of anything is a lot of something to watch, even if you have 6 or 7 months to do it and especially if you wait until the middle of last week to get rolling on season 5.

Random Lost thoughts:

--After watching seasons 3, 4 and 5 in the space of a month or so, this show seems a hell of a lot less focused and carefully constructed than it did when I watched those same seasons over the course of 3 years.

--As I was rewatching all of this, I noticed that I remembered almost every detail about seasons 1, 2 and 3 and almost nothing from seasons 4 and 5 outside of major plot points.

--I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority, but I still say Claire is tops among Lost chicks.

--They have a ton of explaining to do over the course of 16 episodes. The writers are either going to leave a ton of loose ends or they're going to pack so much stuff in that watching the show is going to feel like somebody is beating you over the head with a crowbar.

--Am I the only nerd who went back through the whole thing?

I've been going through selected episodes, but I'm with you--I remeber seasons 1 and 2 very well and didn't remember last season very well. Part of that has to do with the fact that I rewatched season 1 before season 2 started, then I watched 1 and 2 before season 3 started.

I'm in on Claire. Give me Nikki, Claire and Libby for a top 3 women of Lost list.

I definitely think the show peaked in season 1 and has gone downhill since then. It's just gotten way too convoluted with the time travel/physics stuff. I liked it better when it was a more spiritual/unexplained experience than a physical/explained one.

I watched the pilot yesterday, and it made me think I probably couldn't do S1 all the way through again.

Cuse & Lindelof have pretty much admitted that not all questions will be answered. I saw something today that if the characters want it answered, it probably will be, but random shit going back 2 seasons probably will not be answered.

I'm really excited. I agree that it was more fun when it was unknown and spiritual, but I'm still looking forward to the closure. I have a feeling we'll be mind-f'ed a few times along the way this season.

Meh. I realize they're just setting things up here, but I wanted some big jaw-dropping spectacle like we got at the beginning of Season 3.

If there are complaints about tonight, I think the expectations might have been too high. Thought it was great.

So what/who disappeared from the plane?

Christian, Desmond, Locke's knives, ???

Kind of like Jack, Kate, Hurley, and Sayid disappeared from the Ajira Flight 316 rather than crashing with Sun/Ben/Lapidus?

And now that I type that-- Jack, Kate, Hurley, and Sayid are the ones from Jacob's new list (along with Jin)

Are you just focusing on what didn't make it to LA or what was different between the two flights?

I found it interesting that all of the following was different (and I'm sure I missed a ton):

a) Rose comforting Jack as opposed to the other way around
b) Rose and Bernanrd happy with their lives (she had cancer and was miserable)
c) Hurley consideirng himself "lucky"
d) Desmond on the plane (temporaraily)
e) Shannon definitely not on the plane
f) Locke appearing content with his life. Locke lying about the Walkabout
g) Charlie already in the bathroom not running down the aisle
h) They made a point to include Arntz and Forgurt but where were Walt, Michael, Eko, Libby, Ana Lucia?

I would think tehse were all intentional.

Interesting theory that I totally didn't come up with on my own, but now that they've established that Locke = Man in Black, I wonder if the newly awoken Sayid = Jacob

I'm thinking the Sayid = Locke theory holds some water.

WTF ya'll lost me saying Claire is the hottest.

1. Kate
2. Juliette
3. Nikki
4. Shannon
5. Anna Lucia

I could go top 20 and not get to Claire.

Fucking Rousseau is hotter than Claire.

I was thinking Sayid = Jacob, and the dude that looks like Locke is that other guy from way way back that was sitting on the beach while Jacob ate fish as the watched the boat (Black Rock?) coming in.

We had just finished watching all 5 seasons in about 2 months, not sure I'm going to like this once per week deal

The fact that Frazier now watches a network tv show is more surprising than anything that has happened - or will happen - on LOST.

And dude, yeah, it sucks to only get an hour a week after watching batches. I've been watching normally for three seasons and I still haven't gotten used to it.
