I wonder how much of Greggo's drug problems can be attributed to the fact that he is a closet case?

Also, drydock sucks. Pretty sure any of us could be at the helm on The Hardline and throw down a better Rangers segment than Corby.

Saw a tweet today that The Ticket is taking over business management of ESPN 103.3? Is that true? Do they just mean Cumulus? Or the actual ticket? Wonder what that means for both stations?

I saw the same thing and it definitely said the Ticket. They sold the 104.1 frequency last week so I am guessing it is going to be a big change, whatever it is.

Cumulus is taking over... not the Ticket.

Will be interesting to see what Cumulus does!

"ESPN Audio has reached a long-term Local Marketing Agreement (LMA) with Cumulus Media, Inc. which calls for Cumulus to program ESPN Radio Dallas KESN 103.3 FM. The station will retain the ESPN name and ESPN’s national programming, highlighted by Mike & Mike and The Herd with Colin Cowherd as part of a long-term affiliation agreement. In addition, ESPN Deportes Radio Dallas 1540 AM, through an affiliation agreement, will now be programmed by Deportes Media and will retain the ESPN Deportes Radio moniker. ESPN will continue to own KESN.

The Cumulus Media LMA will take effect upon the closing of the pending sale of radio station KTDK FM, while the Deportes Media affiliation agreement will take effect on September 1, 2013.

"ESPN Audio is always evaluating business options and opportunities, while continuing to serve sports fans,” said Traug Keller, ESPN senior vice president, production business divisions. “These two moves are smart for us in the Dallas market as we grow the audio business and draw on the strengths of Cumulus. Sports fans will continue to have access to the best national and local programming that ESPN Radio Dallas and ESPN Deportes Radio Dallas have to offer.”

D Magazine (I think Eric Celeste) was speculating that Galloway might be retiring at the end of the year and then they could move Norm to evenings on 103.3.

It's Just Banter is supposedly doing a live broadcast/podcast from The Tiniest Bar in Texas Saturday night during the KSU game. I'm probably going to go.

Did anyone catch this letter from Grubes to Greggo on Twitter earlier this week?

http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1rovvmm

@TCUWhiteTrash Greg, I don’t know where to begin with this. But I can’t stand watching you continue to sink when now might be your best chance to finally swim. You have no reason to continue lashing out at people that had nothing to with your current situation. You have no reason to continue tweeting barely-coherent thoughts to people that pine for the “old” Greggo.

You have no reason to continue living anywhere near the city that once adored you. You’ve burned bridges with anyone that cared about you aside from a few people who, despite their best intentions, likely are doing more harm than good by continuing to be your friend.

It makes me sad to think I will never hear your voice on the radio again. It makes me sad to see you begging for handouts from people you’ve never met in order to keep your blog going. It makes me sad to think that someone who was so good to me, someone who did so much to help me succeed at the Ticket, has become this shell of a person.

But I still want to believe that somewhere inside of you is the Greggo that I knew. The Greggo that gave me advice on radio and life, that cheered for me behind the scenes, that I shared so many silly moments AND serious conversations with. You can still be that person. You might not get to enjoy this next phase of your working life like you enjoyed your previous working years, but you still have a chance at happiness in your personal life. I want that, and despite what you might think, everyone else wants that too. But there’s nothing we can do anymore. We’ve exhausted our options.

So PLEASE make a real effort to find REAL help. A doctor who will diagnose your profound weight loss. A psychiatrist who will help you get to the core of your issues. New people in your life that only know you as Greg (or ideally, Robert), not The Hammer, who want nothing from you other than your friendship. I truly believe that you won’t get any of this until you move out of Texas, somewhere you have no connections with (i.e. do NOT go to Colorado).

You’re 53 years old. You won’t be able to retire at 55 like you once hoped, but you can still live a fulfilling life. Texas has nothing more to offer you. Maybe somewhere else does. Give yourself a chance by moving away and seeking true professional and personal help.

Love you, man.

I take it 104.1 has been relinquished because of the 103.3 "takover"? I read somewhere that The Little Ticket will be on 96.7. Need to do something since 1310 AM is horrible from sundown to sun up, up here in God's country.
