Hornbybirth,

What did you think of Hard Eight? I went once and I was a little disappointed. Looking back, it wasn't bad, I think I just had my expectations set a little high.

I don't get to eat lunch today because my boss is an inconsiderate dickhole.

I liked the openness of the restaurant and the way you could select your food from a smorgasbord of meats, veggies, desserts. Overall, the flavor was excellent. Sausage was spicy and not greasy, Brisket was tender, Ribs were a little dry and chewy, but I only had one. My lunch companion was the one eating the ribs as I am not a big fan typically.

Had a free lunch today from a supplier.

free lunches kick ass.

I NEVER take advantage b/c I can't stand when one of my customers takes a free lunch advantage of me.

It pisses me off when one of my dumbshit customers orders the most expensive thing on the menu. It's like I get free lunch rage or something. There is a free lunch code that one should not cross.

Taco Bell

Had the new Volcano Taco.

thumbs down

Didn't care for the canned cheese taste of it. I did like the hotness of it.

Peabody, I'll be the second thumbs-down with you. I am an unapologetic Taco Bell fan and I thought the Volcano Taco was very poor. The Nacho Cheese Chalupa is a great alternative when you want something different than a regular/supreme, however.....

I like the hotness on the way in. Not so much on the way out.

Yesterday Wiz and I ate at Sweet Tomatoes. I had heard it was an Italian joint.

Not so much.

Hornbybirth and Wiz,

Do you guys work in the Addison area? If so, I'd be up for meeting for lunch some day.

Let me know.

Wiz works near 35 and Valley View.

I currently work from home in Princeton when I'm not travelling. I think soon I'll be at Aviall with my wife Shawna, which is near 635 and Royal (the one near DFW)

But to answer the question, I know Wiz eats at the Blue Goose there at Belt line and Midway. So it must not be too far for his lunch period.

Or at least Wiz's boss lets him take extended lunches as opposed to ATLonghorn's boss which doesn't let him eat. :-)

I will be getting some Chuy's when in the ATX this weekend! The one near Knox and Central in Dallas is not as good.

Maybe I'm biased to the ATX atmosphere? Or, maybe it was the company of Drew and Matt?

:D

Hey Stephen, I'm down in Addison ever so often, so I'm up for lunch there anytime...let me know. I've got nothing to do right now. ;)

McKinney (Hornbybirth and Wiz also),

I'm up for it. I'm in town for most of the next couple of weeks and then out of the country for a few weeks. Let's see if we can set a time and place for the Dallas FOLM to meet. It would be nice to meet y'all finally.

A peanut butter & grape Jelly sandwich at home chased down with a few glasses of cold milk.

Also had ruffles with the sandwich.

I don't believe that I've ever found a chip that works well with a peanut butter & jelly sandwich. I absolutely have to have something crunchy to eat along with a sandwich that is chewy.

Went with the Sonoma Chicken from Baker Brothers. Solid as usual.

I'd probably be in too. Most any day except next Friday.

Regular Lay's right in the sandwich.

Or, Baked Lay's Sour Cream & Onion on the side.

grilled lamb chops and jalapeno brats near the 14th hole of a charitable golf tournament I played in yesterday. Perfect weather (sunny, mid-60's), awesome course (General's Retreat at Hermitage Golf Courses in Nashville), free alcohol, and a $100 gift certificate to spend on Nike golf gear.
