I've become quite fond of Metric's Fantasies, to the point of listening to it more than ten times since downloading not even two weeks ago. I'm also looking forward to the new Sea Wolf. My buddy Porter introduced me to them last year.

TV on the Radio has a new album in 2009? They just had one last year. I didn't really like it.

I've heard one song, and I wasn't that impressed. But then again Modest Mouse is kinda weird for my tastes.

So I read this and thought, "man, I liked them back in HS," and today I noticed they have a new album this year. I'll check it out.

Also, Kevin, a new Muse track has leaked. I still haven't heard the first, but yours was not the only disappointed reaction I saw.

Yup. Dinosaur Jr. is still at it. The new stuff is decent, but I'm hoping the show is heavy on stuff from Green Mind/Where You Been/Without a Sound.

I've heard both of the new Muse songs and they're both fucking terrible. I'm going to have to hear the whole album to see if I want to buy it or not.

1. I haven't liked anything by Modest Mouse since Lonesome Crowded West, which is spectacular.

2. The Southern Unknown by Dove Hunter is very solid.

3. Current candidates for Song of the Year: "The Queen's Rebuke/The Crossing" by The Decemberists; "The Sparrow Spooked the Crow" by Dove Hunter; "Whip-poor-will" by Magnolia Electric Co.; "Sugarfoot" by Black Joe Lewis

How can you like old Modest Mouse and not like The Moon & Antarctica?

I get that you wouldn't like Good News for People Who Love Bad News or We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank as they definitely don't stack up to the others.

I just prefer the more raw sound they had on This Is a Long Drive For Someone With Nothing To Think about and Lonesome Crowded West. There are a few songs on Moon & Antarctica that I like (Tiny Cities Made of Ashes comes to mind), but most of the songs just sounded really flat to me.

I heard a song, "Use someone" on the radio and really liked it. Then when I looked it up I found out it was Kings of Leon. Then on youtube I listened to "Sex on Fire" and another song. I can't remember the name, but the chorus is about don't knock it.
All three were good. I've been trying to avoid them because they are Okies and the whole horns down thing. If i use limewire to download thier music instead of paying for it, would I still be cheating on Mack Brown?

Blueprint 3 is out there in the Torrent-sphere. I'm underwhelmed.

- Blueprint 3 is growing on me.

- Muse's new album leaked yesterday finally. I'm underwhelmed. I don't see it changing my mind. I've listened to it all the way through twice and only a couple of songs stand out. The Exogenesis symphony idea was good, but feels under developed. I wish they would have spent more time on it and really making it awesome because the rest of the album is forgettable.

- The new Avett Brothers album is out there. I've never really listened to them before, but the album is produced by Rick Rubin and he almost always does good stuff. I haven't delved too deeply into yet, but I like what I've heard so far.

Dear Muse,
