Jon Stewart on The O'Reilly Factor tonight

Postby Bucharest on Wed Feb 03, 2010 8:01 pm

It's about to come on in a few minutes, but Part 1 replays later in case you missed it.....Part 2 is tomorrow.

I don't usually watch this stupid shit, but this could and should be entertaining.

Hour long show......and we get 10 minutes of O'Reilly talking and yelling over Stewart......who didn't see that coming?

After watching it, I think it was great. They both did themselves for 10 minutes. Bill was loud and well-versed, and Jon was sarcastic and eloquent. I'm quite sure an O'Reilly/Stewart ticket would get my vote over any politician at this moment.

Flip the order on that ticket and I'm in.

Jon Stewart just bothers me. I dunno... Maybe it's that smug look on his face at every joke that he tells... or maybe it bothers the shit out of me that people actually watch The Daily Show to get their dose of news. I think that's it.

Where else would you suggest getting it?

Oh, and my favorite part from last night was O'Reilly actually saying with a straight face that he's not a Right-Wing shill.......that's like saying Olberman isnt' a liberal shill......at least own it like Rush......you had God Damn Karl Rove and Dick Morris on your show last night, I mean come on.....what a moron. He should go back to hosting "Inside Entertainment Tonight Edition Extra".....or whatever show he was hosting before he became the poster boy for Fox News......maybe that's where we could get our dose of daily news!!??!!

I think the News Hour with Jim Lehrer is a pretty good place to get an objective and unbiased report of the news... Plus there's no crowd laughing and whooping it up during the broadcast.

I guess this makes me boring. :-k

Comparing O'Reilly to fringe kooks like Olberman and Rush is inaccurate, and lowest-common-denominator's what Bill does. His audience might be mostly from the right, it isn't because he is shilling for them.

Well as somebody who can't stand either one those kooks, I will respectively disagree.....I see no difference in the two, outside of their ideologies and the specific group they pander to of course.....but their jobs are essentially the same as far as I can tell.

I agree on Olberman and Rush being two peas in a pod, but Bill does not drop down to their level.

At least Rush speaks the truth.

Olberman is a complete idiot.

Rush is a shill, and Olberman is a complete idiot, but they're both smarter than Bill O'Reilly.

O'Reilly doesn't even know what he is or what he believes. Probably too busy listening to his own voice to think about anything else.

That's a strange comment about him not "dropping" to their level. The guy is running one of the most dumbed-down shows on TV.

The way I read that, "not knowing what he believes" = not being overly liberal or conservative. How do we know that he doesn't know what he believes?

That might be it, but some of his positions are so contradictory and inconsistent that it looks to me like he's just a guy looking for a fight.
